 Exodus 15:2

The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God,& I will praise him, my father's God,& I will exalt him.
2 Samuel 22:31-33
31 as for God, his way is perfect: The Lord's word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. 32 for who is God besides the Lord? & Who is the rock except our God? 33 it is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.
1 Chronicles 16:26-27
For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made heavens. 27 splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place.
Psalm 18:1
I love you, Lord, my strength.

It is God who arms me with strength & keeps my way secure. 33 he makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights.

On the Christian & His Relation to the Law

Christians have long since wrestled with the significance of the Old Law, of the Jews, and the New Law and, moreover, how to these Laws apply to the political realm, if at all. St. Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Martin Luther, and John Locke are but a few who have tried to answer these questions. Each one argues that the Old Law is no longer needed to be obeyed by the Christian because the Christian has a new, surpassing Law, that is the New Law. The New Law being the Law given by Christ Himself which is, in short, loving God and loving neighbor. St. Augustine in his work City of God tries to explain how the Christian, a member of the Heavenly City or rather the City of God, is to interact with the City of Man, or rather the temporal and physical world particularly in light of the Old and New Law.  What Was Worth So Much Struggle?/ Colossians 2:1-3/ Pt 1.  The reward of Paul's struggle in 2:2 is full assurance in Christ.  He fought against false teaching and wanted them to rest fully in Christ.  Love, Unity, and Assurance in the Truth/ Pt 2. Hearts made strong, hopeful, and able to stand against threats of assurance. Paul hopes his struggle is encouraging to them.  Paul's struggle for them is a showing of Christ's work through him.  Love is the glue of relationships.  Love grows us in the knowledge of God as well.
