Psalm 25:8-10
Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways. 9 he guides the humble in what is right & teaches them his way. 10 all the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those to keep the demands of his covenant.
Exodus 15:13

How to Read the Bible Devotionally Pt.Ⅱ

     Now that we have sufficiently covered the Minimalist Method in part one let us now consider how to best maximize our time spent in God's word. For our purposes here we focus on Study Bibles and Journaling.       First, consider the Study Bible: As the name suggests it is a Bible with various notes to help the reader understand what it is they are reading. The Study Bible will generally include an introductory page on each book of the Bible that explains who wrote that particular book, when they wrote it, why they wrote it, and to whom they wrote. On the proceeding pages, there will be verse notes on concepts, doctrine, words, or actions found in that chapter.       In my time since I've become a Christian, there has been quite the explosion of Study Bibles; and they don't seem to be going anywhere any day soon. Read Pray This chapter is divided into 3 sections: the good shepherd discourse (10:1-21), the discourse with the new (22-38) and a closing section (39-42) The chapter is unified by the themes that Jesus is Lord, Israel’s shepherd, that He is one with the Father and that His saving activity absolutely secures the protection of the who are His.  So let's focus on 10:1-21 first. So we have a lot to talk about tonight. I'm gonna throw a couple different topics around like perseverance of the Saints, a bit about how to properly read scripture and also apologetics AND I think we may see John’s first use of fully intentional use of contrast in this chapter and we’ll talk about how that the Hebrews loved to really use it to drive home the story.
