Verses on Purity

 Psalm 24:4-5

He who has clean hands & a pure heart who does not left up his soul to an idol & it swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from The Lord & vindication from God his savior.
Psalm 51:10-12
Create in me a pure heart, O God,& renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation & grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Psalm 119:9-11
How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. 10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. 11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
Philippians 1:9-11
& this is my prayer: that your love may abound more & more in knowledge & depth of insight,10 so that you may be able to discern what is best & maybe pure & blameless for the day of Christ,11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory & praise of God.
Matthew 15:17-20
Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach & then out of the body?18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, & these defile them. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts-murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20 These are what defile a person, but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.
Philippians 2:14
Do everything without grumbling or arguing,
Hebrews 9:12-14
He did not enter by means of the blood of goats & calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption. 13 The blood of goats & bulls & the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. 14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
2 timothy 2:22
Flee the evil desires of youth & pursue righteousness, faith, love & peace, along with those who call on The Lord out of a pure heart.

How to Read the Bible Devotionally Pt.Ⅱ

Now that we have sufficiently covered the Minimalist Method in part one let us now consider how to best maximize our time spent in God's word. For our purposes here we focus on Study Bibles and Journaling.       First, consider the Study Bible: As the name suggests it is a Bible with various notes to help the reader understand what it is they are reading. The Study Bible will generally include an introductory page on each book of the Bible that explains who wrote that particular book, when they wrote it, why they wrote it, and to whom they wrote. On the proceeding pages, there will be verse notes on concepts, doctrine, words, or actions found in that chapter.       In my time since I've become a Christian, there has been quite the explosion of Study Bibles; and they don't seem to be going anywhere any day soon. When considering which Study Bible to purchase it is important to remember that our goal of reading devotionally is to...

RANSOM: How To Have Better Devotions

For March I wanted to do a series of various evergreen topics of the faith. Today we will be beginning this series with one of the most evergreen topics possible; that being our devotions. Today we will look at the RANSOM Bible study method. As well as a brief Church history lesson. But before that, we need to establish what it is that we're studying and why we study it. First, what are we studying? The Bible. In your own words, what is the Bible? The Bible is from God (literally God-breathed) to show and tell us the character, nature, requirements, and the actions of God and the proper response of man to that showing and telling of God. (For a fuller understanding of the Bible and how it came to be please watch the Bible Project's video on the matter). Let's see how the Bible defines itself. Turn to 2 Timothy 3:16-4:3 . Based on these verses, how does the Bible define itself? Paul says that all Scripture, both Old and New Testament, is breathed out by God. It is from...

Galatians 1 LAB Notes

Paul's Background Is a Mercy to Us/ Galatians 1:1-2/ Pt 1. Paul's own introduction in Acts 22:3, Galatians 1:13-14. Acts 13:9 is a turning point in Saul's/Paul's name. Paul is his gentile name to reflect his focus on the gospel to the Gentiles. From henceforth he is referred to as Paul.  Look at pre-saved Paul and love the mercy of God towards sinners.  How Do We Know Paul's Words are God's Words?/ Pt 2. Paul saw the risen Christ and was a leader of it.  The word is self-authenticating for it is the highest authority/word there is.  Authorized by God, the Father, and Son /Pt 3. The Gospel and its authority come from Christ.  Paul was confirmed by men Acts 13, but it still came from God.  God raised His own son. The Son has always been the Son; and likewise with the Father.  Unusual First Words for Paul/ Pt 4.  No thanksgiving, "saints" and no other letter is "from all the brothers". "church" is the people; not the building. The Glor...
